A ROCS is a modified LETS. Both are alternative monetary systems.

In a ROCS, two parties negotiate the amount of payment for goods or services,
unlike a LETS which uses straight "time dollars" for all transactions,
whether skilled or unskilled. ROCS also imposes a disincentive on both positive
and negative balances, punishing both hoarding and freeloading and encouraging
prompt spending of any income.
