Arámburo had ground beef at 50 pesos/kilo, marked down from about 150 two days ago. I bought half a kilo, made meatballs out of half, and will make a nice, greasy, burger with the rest.
Meatballs, experimental recipe: equal parts by volume ground beef and cornmeal; thyme and oregano to taste; enough soy sauce to get it all to bind is just about right for salt. Panfry in lard until browned evenly. Delicious, if a little dry, but it remains to be seen if they hold up in a stew.
