as to my yogurt experiments: the custard cup of milk with an old tamarind pod in it for acid didn't turn out well. it made something resembling cottage cheese, probably edible but not palatable to me. the one into which I put last year's organic yogurt from the freezer may still turn out okay. the temperature from the oven lamp doesn't seem to be quite enough to do the job right, or at least not fast.
